    Major problems installing AlphaSkins v8.50 into Delphi Xe2.

    With Delphi 2007 or 2010 there a routine that I go through to install updates and very rarely have installation issues. With Delphi Xe2 I could never could get AlphaSkins to install and after a couple of attempts just gave up – but now I need Xe2 for a project and I want to be able to AlphaSkins!

    The Xe2 DPK files are not set up correctly.

    For one thing Xe2 does not like {$IMPLICITBUILD ON}

    unless you remove or comment out the line you get installation errors with acntDelphiXE2 that acntDelphiXE2_R must be rebuilt but can't.

    After much frustration and finagling finally managed to get the acntDelphiXE2_R.bpl and the acntDelphiXE2.bpl files to compile and install correctly. At last I can finally use AlphaSkins in Xe2, and in both 32 and 64 bit modes.

    BUT – I still can't get the AlphaSkin DB components to install.

    Had same issue with acntDelphiXE2_R and {$IMPLICITBUILD ON} and finally got past them but now I'm getting an error message:

    “Cannot load package 'acntDelphiXE2_R' It contains unit 'acZLibEx', which is also contained in package 'acntDelphiEX2'.”

    Would really like to get the AlphaSkins DB components installed & working.

    Hopefully you have a solution.

    And hopefully you can get the DPK issues get fixed so that in the future if I need to update AlphaSkins that I don't loose another couple of hours trying to convince it to install.

    Thanks

    Steven

    Morning is better, but I'm not sure that I will be online on these weekends.

    I'm using TeamViewer usually.
