The dialog that occurs when clicking the icon on a TsDirectoryEdit contains distorted icons:

The Documents icon is completely obfuscated.
After rebuilding the project, most icons look alright, but the Documents icon stays a black square.
But after a while even rebuilding the project doesn't help anymore.
December 18, 2017 at 10:34 am #57372SupportKeymasterPlease try the original ASkinDemo: http://www.alphaskins.com/sfiles/askindemo.zip
DirectoryEdit with these icons is existing on the first opened frame.
Do you have same issue there? This information is required for localizing a problem.

The directory edit from the SkinDemo app does not have a vertical bar at the left hand side. I changed the ShowRootBtns to True. Now I have the same rendering problem. With one exception: the Documents icon does show, but all four icons have a black in stead of a transparent background.
The icons on the TsFileNameEdit do look OK.
December 19, 2017 at 8:09 am #57390SupportKeymasterI mean this ComboEdit. Root buttons are not visible there??

The problem is not that they are not visible. The root buttons have a black background, not a transparent background. Also here the documents icon is not visible:

I also tried this with the original version of ASkinDemo.exe and have the same result.
December 19, 2017 at 10:22 am #57394SupportKeymasterI mean, this left bar with icons is visible in the ASkinDemo in this ComboEdit.
You told that you have changed sources and recompiled.
This left bar is not visible in the original downloaded demo?

However on the laptop of my wife, there is not a problem. It must be my PC then, What could it be?

I remember now: I had this before. Something to do with the Windows Icon Cache. I'll look into this some more. Don't bother about this for the moment.
December 20, 2017 at 3:10 pm #57405HeDiBoParticipantIt's a problem with the account I run under.
If I log in with a different account, there is no problem with the icons.
Thank you for your efforts. You can consider this a closed case.
January 31, 2018 at 3:48 pm #57521HeDiBoParticipantUnfortunately, my conclusion that it was a user account problem is false.
What happens is that the SECOND time I run the application, the explorer icon cache gets corrupted.
This is the result, after I cleared the explorer cache:
[attachment=8612:IconProblemFresh.jpg]
This is how the program shows the panel upon first run:
[attachment=8610:IconProblemFirstRun.jpg]
After this, the icon cache does not seem to be altered:
[attachment=8614:IconProblemMiddle.jpg]
Then I run the application for a second time:
[attachment=8613:IconProblemSecondRun.jpg]
And now, the icon cache seems affected (look at the size and date of the iconcache_idx.db file).
[attachment=8615:IconProblemFinal.jpg]
The same thing happens when I run the application from another account.
The same thing happens with the ASkinDemo application.
The icon for Documents is always black, in each situation.
February 1, 2018 at 10:24 am #57522HeDiBoParticipantToday, after the PC booted, the icons were OK
However, running the application a couple of times (I did'n't check in the mean time) the icons were distorted as before
With one exception: the documents icon was not a black square, but behaved just like the other icons: a non-functional transparency
When I run the application on another PC there is no problem
February 2, 2018 at 9:48 am #57527SupportKeymasterI will rewrite a receiving of icons procedure in the nearest release and I hope it helps.

That would be great!
March 21, 2018 at 4:25 pm #57722HeDiBoParticipantProblem seems to be solved in 13.03
