I have a tester that made the following statement.
Refer the attached photos, it's the arrow/drop down menu button that's very small. For example, I tap on “Take Snapshot” I then have to tap on the very small arrow/dropdown menu button to get the menu so I can make a selection from the menu. Bear in mind I'm using a 10″ tablet and a bit hard to tap on the “dropdown menu” arrow while bobbing around on the water.
He brings up an interesting point. Tablets use a crude mouse pointer called “a fat finger”. I have always thought that when we started using the finger for a mouse that we were taking a big step backwards. However, that is beside the point. I digress.
With tablets you need to have large areas to activate something. With a button having a thin width dropdown you can have problems. What I envision as to what you can do is make the whole button as a dropdown which means that the button click itself causes a dropdown and not a click event. And of course you need to have a dropdown arrow on the button to tell the user that this has a dropdown action.
At any rate, my question is can the width of the dropdown section be changed to allow for the “fat finger”?
This is one of the weirder things I have talked about. Other than this, he is reporting great results from the scaling, etc. Thanks.
