I have severe problems installing the Data aware components under D5. Installation of standard components works just fine, and can be done according to the installation guide which is included as a text file in the zipped registered version of AC (currently V7.63). I have no problems installing both the standard and the db components under D7 – works like a charm.

What I've done :

1 : Setup the D5 Library path, to include both the standard and the db-component source files (ACdb files are in a sub directory relative to the AC standard controls directory)

2 : Installed the AC standrd controls (first the runtime and then the design-time dpk files – works fine)

3 : tried to load and install/compile the alphaDB5.dpk but get the following error : “[Error] sDBComboBox.pas(170): Undeclared identifier: 'FDefListProc'” which originates in the “sdCombobox.pas” file.

The above problem is independant of AC version – as far as I know anyway – and seems to be exclusively linked to D5. I've used the same ainstallation procedure under D7 and that works flawlessly.

Now, in principle I could settle for using AC under D7 but for historical reasons I need D5 from time to time and would very much like to use AC in those projects as well.

I'd appreciate any suggestions to resolve my problems

Hello!

Line with FDefListProc may be just removed.

This variable does not exists in the Delphi 5 and not used there.
