As a followup on the case of checkboxes not being skinned in the TVirtualTreeView.
There is a property CustomCheckImages in the VirtualTreeView.
It might be possible to draw the skin's checkboxes onto an imagelist and associate it to the VirtualTreeView.
Note that the property CheckImageKind has to be ckCustom.
