Yes, flickering is removed in the v7.4
I'll try to link with you today.
Thanks for connecting earlier and resolving my installation problem.

I have checked all files now and they are Ok, maybe you can share your PC with me? I'll try to solve an issue with installation.
That's a good idea. Before we arrange a time can you confirm if the Windows 7 flicker issue reported, when forms/dialogs are closed, is resolved in this beta version.
If so, anytime today suits. I still have you linked into Google talk, so contact me when suits.

darcyParticipantAny updates on the above. I have had to revert back to v6.64 until I hear from you.

You have full sources of the package or precompiled files only?
Maybe you have pressed 'Build' without sources?
Serge,
I downloaded Beta v7.41 from the link http://www.alphaskins.com/sfiles/acnt_regbcb2007.zip and followed the installation instructions for CB2007, as I have done many times before. I have been able to upgrade to v7.34 successfully so the problem is with v7.41, not my IDE or user trouble.
I need v7.41 urgently as I am trying to resolve an issue I am experiencing with Windows 7 where a flicker occurs when my forms/dialogs are closed. Does not occur on XP.

I installed v7.21 and am now further than before. I did as you recommended and removed references to sAlphaListBox e.g. #include “sAlphaListBox.hpp” and #pragma link “sAlphaListBox”. However, I am now encountering a 'List Index Out of Bounds(0)' exception when the application runs. Attached should be a screen shot of the error and the callstack, if that helps.
I am available again tomorrow from 09:00 UTC to chat

darcyParticipant'Support' wrote:Hello Darcy and I'm sorry for a delay with answer.
sAlphaListBox unit is empty in the version 7 and will be removed from the package later.
I have some answers which can to solve a problem, do you have a possibility to link with me directly by ICQ, MSN or Skype?
I think this way will be more effective and faster.
You can contact me on GoogleTalk if that suits. If not let me know and I will find my Skype details:

Just attempted to migrate to v7.2 Stable (from v664) and sAlphaListBox seems to have been dropped. I have read the install instructions and things to watch out for. What was the reason behind this and how do I overcome this?
[BCC32 Error] advancedAlerts.h(12): E2209 Unable to open include file 'sAlphaListBox.hpp'
When I use the sAlphaListBox from v664 I get the following link error.
[ILINK32 Error] Error: Unresolved external 'Svclutils::acPrintDC' referenced from C:PRO6CPPBUILDERCOMPONENTSALPHASKINSBCB2007SALPHALISTBOX.OBJ
Your speedy reply is greatly appreciated.
p.s. if there is anything else I am likely to encounter (anything you have learned since releaseing v7.2 stable) please let me know.

Size is increased because sSkinManager is linked with most of units.
In other words, a basic part of the AlphaControls package is linked to your Exe 🙂
Serge,
Thanks for the reply. I understand how the skinning works 🙂 and that the size of my exe will increase. I am shocked to discover that my test app exe size increases by x3.5 times its original. My application is downloaded via satellite comms to offshore vessels and the size of my final exe is critical. For info: I am not interested in compressing the exe after compilation i.e. an exe packer such as UPX.
Is there a way I can reduce the increase that I am seeing. To repeat myself, an increase of x3.5 times the un-skinned version of my app is unacceptable.
Your speedy reply is greatly appreciated.

I am still interested in know if the TPrintDialog memory leak can/will be resolved in the next release.
Thanks
Hi,
Has the above issue been addressed in Version 7.05 Beta:
* Optimized initialization of standard and third-party controls
Thanks,

The printer type is a Dell 3110cn.
During my investigation I also noticed how the size of my final exe increases dramatically when I have AlphaSkins enabled e.g. from 686kb to 2.4mb. As soon as a link in AlphaSkins using #pragma link the final exe JUMPS in size. Try it and see.
#pragma link "sSkinManager"
Is this a known issue and can I reduce/minimise this size increase? If I need to raise a new thread for this please let me know.

What printer do you uses? I'll try to install a driver and will play with it.

darcyParticipantThanks for the help. Resolved now.
darcyParticipantHi,
Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me what the bitmap attribute is for? I am committed to changing the Thumb of the TsTrackBar for my application. Is there ANY way of doing this e.g. a custom component. I would appreciate if you could think of a solution or ask around as I need to be able to change the thumb bitmap. I'd prefer not to go to a different vendor for a solution.Your help is greatly appreciated.
