Your system says I am 'not permitted to upload this kind of file'.

Ralf, thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes I have a skin provider on that form.

I understand that we would like to find the root cause but since a simple manual act of choosing another skin corrects the problem it would seem to me that on startup I should be able to initiate a method or procedure that would function the same as choosing another skin at run time.

Finding the error on a form this complex would be too time consuming. I believe that the problem was caused by one of the components not getting its parent property set correctly when added to the form. I may have to switch to another skinning product.

You can add the TJvValidateEdit as 'Edit' and controls will be skinned.

Sorry Serge, already have it in thirdparty as an Edit and as you can see from the image I attached to this post initially that it does not skin like the other components. See the 'Maker Last' field (TEdit) and the 'Blank Weight' field (TJvValidateEdit).

Also, any answer as to a when you will add alignment property to your decimal and spin edits?

    TIA

You have added these controls to the ThirdParty list?
Arrows in the TJvSpinEdit can't be skinned.

Yes I have manually added in ThirdParty list.

I could use your decimal spin edit but you still haven't added an alignment property. Any chance you can add that soon?

The TjvValidateEdit is the most useful editor I have ever found. Any possibility of it ever being added?

    Thanks,

Sorry, I not quite understand what you mean…
ScaleIncrement property was added yesterday and works now Ok. Why it may be not enough?

Try scaling to a large size and then try to enter 999,999.99

when I did it only showed 99

I think the ScaleIncrement property will be added in the v6.31, it will be enough?

Not quite. When you scaleby(5,2) the display will only show 2 digits. It would need more modification to make it work. Never as simple as it would one would imagine.

    Thanks for trying.

    Hello Ralph
Your Exe causes Exception on my machine, where skins must be placed? It's better when Exe have one internal skin…
After recompiling your sources I haven't any problems (Delphi7 & WinXP). What Windows and Delphi version do you uses?

    Serge,

My skins are in c:AlphaControlsskins. I will have an internal from now on for debugging purposes.

Using D7 ent and Vista 64.

Still have the same problem. in my example, did you
    start program
    Windows->form2
    Windows->form3
    Close form2
then try any form1 menu? Totally locks my system.

I have deleted and reinstalled 6.3 and still same problem.

Turn off AC and all is okay.

    Can you replicate this problem?

I still think this has to do with the title hints not counting correctly when forms are closed or ysytem icons are set to false.

    TIA

Maybe you can just use LED font in existing controls?

Never heard of LED font before, but that is not what I am looking for. Just a TImage with on/off states and glyphs. I've already made a component for that purpose yesterday. Thanks for your reply though. I may have a need for an LED font someday!

You mean TitleButton in the FrameBar component?

    As in sSkinProvider.titleButtons[0]
