Okay, so I just finished upgrading to the latest version of xplorer2 (v4.2.0.0).
My launch unable-to-maximize problem was not resolved.
So, if you download the xplorer2 demo, you will probably see the same problem.
slkeyserParticipantI use Xplorer2 – v2.1.0.2.
But here’s the thing. I’m using an old version. I upgraded from v1.x to 2.x in January 2012. The developer, Zabkat, has since released a version 3.x in 2015, and a version 4.x in 2018. I never upgraded from my v2.x because, well, it’s been working fine for me.
I will probably upgrade to version 4.x soon. If I do I’ll post an update to this ticket as to whether or not is resolves my app-launch problem.
slkeyserParticipantAye Yai Yai! I can’t believe I have to offer up another mea culpa.
In the process of preparing a small demo app to illustrate my form-maximize problem, I discovered something really odd.
I use a FileExplorer replacement program, one I’ve been using for years. It turns out that when I launch a skinned app from this particular FileExplorer program, the maximize problem happens. If I launch my app from the standard Windows FileExplorer, the problem does not happen. Also, if I launch my app from a windows shortcut, the problem does not happen.
Now, puzzling, other commercial apps which I launch from my replacement FileExplorer seem to maximize properly. It’s just my skinned apps which seem to have this problem. But that’s not your problem. It’s a problem with my FileExplorer replacement app.
So, once again, thanks for your quick reply and my apologies for not identifying this earlier.
slkeyserParticipantProblem solved.
I don't know how, but somehow I had sSkinMenus.pas (from 14.19) in my project folder. How that particular file ended up there, I don't know. But somehow I managed to do it and muck up my installation. I deleted that file, did another clean install of 14.21, and all is well.
Thanks for the quick response, and sorry for the nuisance.
